MAY 2008 KIDS SPECIAL (2 to 31 May 2008)
With effect from Term 3, we will be offering 2 exciting new courses for Tots and Kids! The details on the uniform are being sorted but in the mean time, here is what to expect:

LATIN KIDS (7 - 12 yr)
Start Date: Sat 28 Jun 2008
Time: 10:15 to 11:15 am
Latin Kids introduces and develops the rhythms and movements of the Street Latin and Afro-Cuban dances. The classes incorporate a fun workout with head-to-toe isolation exercises that enhances body movement typically expected in Latin dances, including dance steps and grooves with strong Salsa, Latin and Afro-Cuban dance flavor. All done to infectious Latin rhythms.

POLE TOTS (4 - 6 yr)

POLE KIDS (7 - 12 yr)

Pole Tots and Kids introduces acrobatic pole tricks to develop the natural agility and energy of children, with enhanced play and creativity in movement. For Pole Tots, a parent / guardian accompanies the child and particpates in class. For Pole Kids, no parents / guardians are allowed in class. Each class is limited to 14 students.

ZAZO
Wed 21 May 2008 (Wed 14 May's class is cancelled)
Combining the precise execution of Jazz with the “in ya face” attitude of the Hip Hop gangstress, this dance style combines the techniques of voguing, wacking, punking and posing. Also known as the diva style of dance, it is the current evolution of Hip Hop.

This is an introduction to Zazo, taught over 2 weeks (total of 2 hours) by renowned personality in the local Hip Hop dance scene, Hamzah who is one of the pioneers to teach Reggae and Zazo in Singapore. With years of coaching experience in public schools, fitness centres and dance studios, he is also a sought-after choreographer. He has worked with regional artistes like Machi, Alex To, Lin Jun Jie, Taufik Batisah, Erma and Jeannette Aw.

INTRO TO J/K POP
Fri 23 May 2008
Inspired by the fusion of Street Funk and Hip Hop as seen in the MTVs of Rain, Shin Hwa and DBSK, learn a routine to jam to popular J/K pop hits and experience a combination of speed, energy and groove. All lovers of asian pop culture are welcome. Hip Hop 1 and above level is required.

Time: 7:30 to 9 pm

INTRO TO BACHATA
Fri 23 May 2008
Bachata, the dance, is characterised by its close, intimate hold and smooth, flowing movements accented by a naughty hip movement. It is both a sensual and romantic yet fun dance that is simple to learn and enjoy. An 1.5 hr introductory workshop to start you on dancing Bachata.

All Tots and Kids Trial classes are Level I. Entry into a Level II class is subject to the teacher's assessment. If your child intends to take a Level II class, please attend the Level I trial class and have the teacher assess your child. Please also inform the receptionist at the point of registration.

PILATES MAT CLASSES
We are re-starting our Pilates Mat classes! These will be on-going classes. Pilates was developed by Joseph Pilates and are exercises that build long muscles and develop core control to create an evenly conditioned body.

MUSICAL THEATRE WORKSHOP

Step into the spotlight with this all-singing, all-dancing, all-acting 3-day holiday workshop! You will be taught an excerpt from an original musical adaptation of  “Hansel and Gretel” and will perform it for family and friends at the end of the course.

The instructors for the workshops are some of Singapore’s most experienced Musical Theatre professionals - Babes Conde (vocals), Gani Abdul Karim (dance) and Jeremiah Choy (acting).  With their first-hand experience, they will share their skills to inspire a new generation of musical theatre stars. DUAL POWER

Dance to the power of 2! Hip Hop is now twice the fun when you dance with a partner in Dual Power. The only Hip Hop 4-week course where you interact with your partner to get creative moves and double the grooves. You don’t need to sign up with a partner cos we will team you up! A Level 1 Hip Hop class.

YOUTH DAY WORKSHOPS
MON 7 JUL 2008
(Age 13 to 18 yr)

Grrl Power, a workshop where Beyonce, Spice Girls and The Pussy Cat Dolls are the inspiration for gals to move with confidence and attitude. For Gals only, this class will teach you Hip Hop groove with plenty of feminine sass. No previous experience necessary.

B-Boy refers to a person who practices Breakdancing, a street dance style that evolved as part of the Hip Hop movement. This is an introduction into the power movements of Breakdance, the flashy cousin of Hip Hop.  You will learn the basic "Top Rock" step as well as a "Baby Freeze" which are a safe way to help you understand the balance and strength needed to perform the more difficult moves. No previous experience necessary.

Time: 2 to 5 pm

Please note that Latin Fiesta on Fri 30 May and Fri 6 Jun 2008 are cancelled as the teachers will be travelling.

TEMPORARY CHANGE TO POLE PRAC
During Linna's absence, the following arrangements have been made for Pole Prac:

1. No change to Wed Pole Prac, 9 to 10 pm.

2. Sat Pole Prac is cancelled - w.e.f. Sat 10 to Sat 24 May, both dates inclusive.

3. Pole Prac has been arranged for Thu 7:30 to 8:30 pm, w.e.f. Thu 24 Apr to Thu 22 May, both dates inclusive.

Once Linna is back, Pole Prac reverts back to Wed and Sat, as reflected in the studio's current full schedule.

PURCHASE OF X-POLES
We are currently taking orders for the X-Poles for personal home use. The prices (shipping included) are as follows:

Basic X-Pole - S$800

*0.5 m Extension - S$60

*1 m Extension -S$80

*Please measure your floor to ceiling height and our contact person, Jasmine Han will determine if an extension is required.

Please note that the X-Poles are not suitable for use in rooms with false ceilings.

A 50% deposit on the price of the X-Pole and if applicable, the full price of the extension are payable to confirm your order. The remaining 50% will be payable on delivery.

PAYPAL EMAIL PAYMENT SYSTEM
We have signed up for and are testing the PayPal payment system. This allows us to accept payment online, thus providing you with a more convenient mode of payment!

We have decided to use the e-mail payment system as we intend to ensure that there is a spot for you in the course or workshop of your choice before payment is received.

Currently, this payment system is only available for Pole Guys and Dual Power. By May 2008, we should have the payment system available for all courses and workshops.

The process is as follows:

1. Register for the course / workshop of your choice online with our registration form.

2. We receive your registration form and check for availability in the course / workshop of your choice.

3. If availabile, we will hold a place in the course / workshop for you for up to 3 days and e-mail you the PayPal payment request. Once payment is made, your spot will be confirmed.

4. If unavailable, we will contact you via e-mail to inform you.

Please note that full payment is required to confirm a place in a course or a workshop. Our form only informs us of your interest in our courses and does not confirm your reservation in the course of your choice.
