What is Classical Ballet?
Noun: A style of Ballet based on precise conventional steps performed with graceful and flowing movements.
[Ital. ballare=to dance], classic, formalized solo or ensemble dancing of a highly controlled, dramatic nature performed to music.
Intro to Ballet Adults
(Beginners Classical Ballet)
For absolute beginners, this 8-week course introduces ballet positions and basic classical ballet movement. Classes are taught by former professional ballet dancers. It is highly recommended as a solid foundation for all dancers.
Ballet 1 Adults
(Beginners Classical Ballet)
For beginners, this 8-week course provides a sound grounding in ballet positions and basic classical ballet movement. Highly recommended as a solid foundation for all dancers.
Ballet 2 (Beginner / Intermediate)
Taking Classical Ballet technique to the next level, this on-going class focuses on the precision and development of Classical Ballet. Turn-out, pelvic stability, fluidity of movement, line and artistry covered. A must for further foundation of a rounded dancer.
Ballet Pointe (Beginner; requires consultation)
En pointe (pointe) means "on the tip" and is a part of classical ballet technique, usually practised using specially reinforced shoes called pointe shoes or toe shoes. Ballet teachers have strict requirements for starting pointe work. Students interested in Ballet Pointe will be formally evaluated to determine if they are physically ready to meet the demands of pointe work.
